Thanks for Making National Night Out a Success!

Posted on

Dear Westwood Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who made our Westwood National Night Out event a great success on August 7th! We welcomed first responders and other Henrico County employees including our own Community Police Officer Richard Mallory, Chief of Police Humberto Cardounel, Jon Gwaltney of the Office of Public Works, and members of our local Fire Station No. 10. This event was a great way to say thank you to them for their service.

We also raised enough in donations to provide seven bicycles to ReEstablish Richmond’s affiliated program for Henrico County’s refugee Congolese children, a program supported by Officer Mallory and his colleagues. Our thanks to donors Sheri McGavic, Carrie Suders, Anna Spencer, Ginny Fiden, and new neighbor Kelly Pickerel for their donations, and to board members Emily and Andrew LeVasseur, Chris Minnigh, and Emily Dunstan for joining me in supporting this wonderful program.

A shout out to our volunteers for their help, especially Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Sam Gage. Thanks also to Metro Diner and Papa John’s Pizza for their support.

Sincerely,
Maria
